Over the last year, we have worked closely with Adam Thomas from the Podiatry Society to create a new and bespoke Adam Thomas of SCPOD uniform range that meets the needs of podiatrists up and down the country. Here in our Q&A, Adam gives us an insight into his work at the society and tells us why he couldn’t live without Flipboard!

1. How and when did you start your career in the industry?

I started in 2004 when I joined the Society Of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (the Society) as Website Co-ordinator.

2.What do you find most enjoyable about your job?

I really like the creative side of Marketing, seeing a rough idea go from concept to finished marketing piece, it's also very rewarding to know that something we have created has helped either a member of the Society or member of the public who has a foot issue.

3. What is the best thing about the Society?

The focus we have on helping members and our quest to promote podiatry to everyone in the UK.

4. What do you think of the new uniforms we developed for you?

I really like that there is a huge choice of styles, colours and sizes available so that whatever your preference is you will find work wear to suit you. I wore a Society branded shirt at the Society’s Conference last year in Harrogate and received many positive comments.

5. How important toyou is it that your Society has its own branding and own clothing range?

Very important, I think it helps foster a sense of belonging to an organisation that is striving to champion the interest of its members.

6. What does the future hold for the Society?

The future is going to be challenging, with the NHS bursaries being dropped but the need for podiatry is set to increase, the Society is embarking on its biggest ever promotion of podiatry and with the help of the whole podiatry profession we can ensure that whenever a person has a problem with their feet they turn to a podiatrist for help.

7. What's your greatest ambition?

Probably to ride a stage of the Tour de France.

8. If you could be anywhere on earth right now, where would you be?

Well I have a four year old son and his world is pretty fantastic so to be with him right now would be hard to beat and if that was in the Big Sur in California that would be the ultimate.

9. Which gadget or app couldn't you live without?

FlipBoard – tailored news app with elegant design.

10. If you could ask one person (living or dead) one question, what would you ask?

This may be a bit niche not to say geeky but I would like to ask Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747 – 1823), who is recognized as the greatest ever horologist (watch maker), how he was able to come up with so many advances in horology which were way ahead of his time. I would like to qualify this by saying I have an obsession with wristwatches!

11. What was the last book you read?

The Toucan Brothers: Meet the Leak Busting Duo, Sammy and Paul! Read to my four year old. It’s a corker!

12. What's your party trick?

I do a mean Scooby Doo impression.
