When their existing uniforms began to fade the team received a recommendation for Grahame Gardner Ltd and contacted the long-established uniform manufacturer to see what they could do to enhance their image.
Because of the nature of their work the team did not need formal uniforms, but did want garments that clearly identified them as members of staff. They decided to go for a relaxed scrub range, but further enhanced their look by using one of Grahame Gardner’s fun prints for their uniforms. Grahame Gardner now offer several lively prints, available on the majority of their uniforms, Southampton General Hospital chose fittingly the ‘Patient’ print, depicting several humorous images of patients.

The majority of the staff within child health can now easily identify play staff, at some distance and children are automatically aware that the play team are distinctly different to nursing staff, whilst still part of the hospital setting.”
Play is very important in terms of the development of the child, and at high stress times like hospital stays and illnesses play can be vital in coming to terms with their illness and the healing process.
