The NHS framework seeks to simplify the ordering process for NHS Trusts around the UK, removing the need for compulsory tendering and streamlining the entire procurement process. This accolade means that the Leicester based uniform manufacturer are one of only a handful of uniform suppliers accepted onto the framework, putting them in an excellent position to continue their growth strategy over the coming years.
As part of the application process all companies who tendered were assessed on a number of criteria including price, sales, service, quality and discounts. Based on these areas a mark was assigned to the applicant – and the scores Grahame Gardner received put them in first place, above all other suppliers! James Greenlees, Managing Director at Grahame Gardner comments: -
“We were a major supplier to the NHS when they were established in 1948, over the years the market has changed almost beyond recognition. By being flexible and staying true to our high quality product range we have been able to maintain our market share in the NHS. Being accepted to the NHS Framework really is the icing on the cake, and means that with our solid foundations we are now at a very positive point in the Grahame Gardner story.
The changes we have made to our business over the last 12 months have included reviewing and refining our operating processes to drive costs down. Our recent reorganisation strategy has helped make Grahame Gardner a dynamic, forward facing company, poised to take on future challenges.”
In addition to reorganising their working practices, Grahame Gardner have brought in a raft of initiatives to make themselves more attractive to the NHS. These have included a dedicated NHS discount package and a range of key NHS essential garments in their Corelines collection.
The recent achievement of the ISO9001 award was crucial to the success of their application to supply the NHS in England. This ISO award is the result of the company reviewing their operational procedures, making improvements where necessary and standardising their working practices – ensuring the highest possible levels of service for the NHS and all other customers.
